AN ECONOMIC COMMENTARY ON THE BIBLE:
A MULTI-VOLUME EXPOSITION

Gary North

The following free books are the result of three decades of work.  To my knowledge, these are the only published commentaries on specific books of the Bible that focus on a single field of thought, one which is both academic and practical.

I began this project in April, 1973.  The first installment, on Genesis 1, appeared in the "Chalcedon Report" (May, 1973).

It is my firm belief that without detailed investigations of each academic discipline, the crucial task of casuistry -- the application of biblical principles to moral questions -- will remain the arcane practice of a handful of Roman Catholic moral theologians, to whom the vast majority of Roman Catholics pay no attention.

The commentaries, along with the accompanying support volumes, provide the foundations for the book that I hope to write, beginning in 2012, on Christian economics.  For me to write such a book before the exegetical groundwork is behind me would be a strategic error.

The printed versions of the commentaries and the support volumes are available from Christian Liberty
Academy:

They are also available for downloading free of charge at this site:
